Quantum State Tomography System

NuCrypt, LLC has developed a unique system of instruments for measuring the quantum state of light. The quantum state tomography system consists of a polarization analyzer (PA-1000), a correlated single photon detection system (CPDS-1000), and all the associated software required for automated measurements and state reconstruction. The CPDS can contain up to four single- photon detectors counting at 50MHz. A 4x4 complex density matrix representing the quantum state is reconstructed and the associated information including the state fidelity can be plotted as a function of time. An example application is to characterize a source of polarization entangled photon pairs, such as the NuCrypt EPS-1000.

A key feature of this system is that the measurement time required for quantum state reconstruction can be <2s, making possible almost real-time measurements. The component devices, which are also sold individually, are useful for research and development of applications in the field of quantum information science and technology.
